Mentoring Service embeds ‘lean systems’ thinking
- Helps Council & NHS staff adapt to the changing public sector landscape
Wokingham, Berkshire March 1, 2008 - Sequena, the UK based business transformation company announced today the launch of a new service for Councils & NHS Trusts.
The Sequena Mentoring Service helps public sector staff adapt to the changing landscape, to learn the latest approaches to taking part in change and to make a difference in their day-to-day work. The service is for all grades of staff up to and including the Chief Executive.
Sequena’s service transformation programmes LASERTM / MyLASERTM – Lean Approach to Service Evaluation and Re-engineering – are helping Councils & NHS Trusts implement radical change to service delivery. The new mentoring service can be part of these programmes or delivered stand-alone to any Council or NHS Trust implementing service transformation.
"Councils and NHS Trusts are changing. Internal and external pressures are forcing change. These organisations must make radical changes to service delivery to respond to these pressures." said William Fell, Managing Director of Sequena. " Council & NHS staff need to adapt to this changing landscape. This is hard but it is all about people. Helping people to take part and be part of the change is crucial".
At the core of Sequena’s Mentoring Service is ‘lean systems thinking’ which is all about the customer journey, ‘thinking the job’ and ‘seeing with new eyes’. Mentoring activities often include:
- One-to-one sessions
- Workplace visits
- Off-site round-table sessions with staff from other Councils & NHS Trusts
- Research
- Assessment and evaluation using innovative tools and techniques
