Anite awards Sequena extension and expansion of partner relationship
- Efficiency-driven initiative to transform local authority Service
departments
- Process lead approach to drive public sector solutions
Wokingham, Berkshire October 19, 2006 - Sequena, the UK based business transformation company announced today their public sector partner Anite, has extended the current agreement between the companies with expanded activities at the heart of their solutions drive in the public sector.
Sequena provide business process re-engineering software and services to Anite, specialist provider of IT solutions to the public sector, which is at the heart of Anite's BPI (Business Process Improvement) methodology.
Anite was awarded £3million from the Department of Work and Pensions' (DWP) Performance Standards Fund (PSF) for the next phase of its Pericles Mobile Working Project to transform the work of local authority Benefits departments by enabling visiting officers to access information remotely via mobile devices. Anite's BPI (Business Process Improvement) methodology utilising Sequena's LASER programme and process modelling tool proved the business case to generate £19 million of direct cost savings.
"Sequena's mission is to help public sector organisations to transform service delivery to achieve improved efficiencies resulting in lower costs and optimised resources." said William Fell, Managing Director of Sequena. "We are very pleased to expand our relationship with Anite, an important supplier to local government across the UK".
The Gershon Report has highlighted the need for both greater efficiencies and transformation of service delivery across the public sector. The business case for implementing process solutions is clearly stated and can be directly aligned to efficiency savings described in the Report. It identifies efficiencies as:
- Reduced numbers of inputs (e.g. people or assets), whilst maintaining the same level of service provision
- Lower prices for the resources needed to provide public services
- Additional outputs, such as enhanced quality or quantity of service, for the same level of inputs
- Improved ratios of output per unit cost of input
- Changing the balance between different outputs aimed at delivering a similar overall objective in a way which achieves a greater overall output for the same inputs
"It is well accepted today that the most effective way to improve the performance of an organisation is by directly acting upon the key processes it uses to deliver services and achieve its results." said Andrew Watson, Partner Manager for Anite Public Sector. "To deliver the Gershon requirements it is crucial to have the right process skills, technology and methodology. Sequena are leading the way in the process marketplace in the UK".
