The NHS is facing another period of major change following the election and continued pressure to deliver better quality of care at significantly lower costs.
In particular NHS Acute Trusts are aiming to achieve lower occupied bed days and admissions which means that changes need to also take place in the Community for this to happen.
Consequently, the productivity of Community Services delivered by Allied Health Professions (AHPs) need to increase. Transforming Community Services and the Quality-Innovation-Productivity-Prevention (QIPP) agenda are aimed at achieving this and more.
Integrated models of care across the community are now being reviewed and implemented in all of the Strategic Health Authorities in England.
