Sequena was founded in 2002 by William Fell, Paul Gillham and Dr Roger Stokes. We started looking for 'business transformation' opportunities to improve business results and an initial target were the portfolio companies of venture capital firms.
It became clear that 'business process' was a fundamental element of business transformation and tools & services were going to be important to help organisations make real improvements. To offer both tools & services we decided to set up two separate companies for this and therefore a group or holding company was needed and Sequena Group was born. The two operating companies were Sequena Consulting Limited and Sequena Software Limited.
In the early days of Sequena, we began working with 4T2 Multimedia Limited ("4T2") who were then focused on building web-sites for various markets. Today 4T2 build online solutions and focus in the childrens market providing the very latest in online games for big brand companies. Sequena Group part-owns 4T2 and we look forward to an ongoing relationship in the future.
The public sector quickly became an area of focus for Sequena Consulting / Sequena Software and a new partnership with the public sector division of the Anite company lead to many projects with Councils to help initially with service improvement and since 2006 with service transformation.
We acquired a recruiting company, Thompson Consulting, and set up Sequena Resourcing inside Sequena Group. This was to take advantage of the recruiting background of Dr Stokes who had been very successful with his own company, Peoplenet International Limited.
The success of Sequena Consulting and Sequena Software in the Council arena lead to Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council investing in Sequena through their 3en Ventures 'capital fund' in December 2007. A new structure was required by the fund and a new company, Sequena Limited, was set up which amalgamated the business of both Sequena Consulting and Sequena Software.
Sequena Group today owns 100% of Sequena Resourcing and part-owns Sequena Limited and 4T2 Multimedia Limited. We continue to own and invest in companies with ideas and innovations who provide tools, knowledge and services which enable substantive change in the performance of public sector organsations and private sector companies.
